Millinocket, Maine

As a SOBO (Southbound) Thru hiker the town you will stay in the night before sumitting Mt. Katahdin is Millinocket.  I recommend using the SOBO Special at the AT Lodge there.  For $70 they will pick you up from the bus stop in Medway, let you stay for the night, get a shower, free breakfast at the AT Cafe in Millinocket, and shuttle you to Baxter State Park.  Nothing much to say about the town as I was there less than 12 hours.  There are a few restaurants and that's about it.
